Photo Requirements and Tips for Great Headshots

We want you to get the best photos for your job applications and profile pictures with Headyshot. Here are some useful tips and requirements to keep in mind.

☝️ The better the photos you upload, the better your results will be.

Upload both 👉 portrait and full-body photos. Each photo should show only one person.

Use 👉 6–10 portrait photos showing yourself from the shoulders or chest up.

Optional (pro tip!): Add 👉 4 full-body photos (or from the waist up) in good quality.

Make sure your photos have 👉 high resolution and quality.

Use photos where you are 👉 looking into the camera.

A 👉 friendly facial expression or a smile works best.
(If you only upload serious expressions, your results will only include those.)

👉 Variety matters
  • Change your body posture for every photo
  • Use photos from different days
  • Include shots with different backgrounds, outfits, and lighting

Every photo should provide our AI with new information about you.

Avoid photos taken at the ✋ same time or on the ✋ same day.

Avoid photos with the ✋ same outfit or ✋ same background. For example, several photos wearing the same shirt might cause the AI to interpret it as part of your identity.

Do ✋ not wear sunglasses, hats, or other accessories in your photos.

Avoid heavy makeup — it can make the results look too artificial.

Group photos: Don’t upload photos where other people are visible.

Facial expressions: Don’t upload funny faces, grimaces, or distorted expressions.
